I have learned and gained lots of things from the Animation Bootcamp course. The instructors are really good, I like the lectures also, I like the way the instructors explain about the principles of animation. Overall it's great. My "Characters in Motion" class is also starting soon, so I am very much excited to start it soon.

I just wanted to extend my thanks for your work on the course. Honestly, I felt you went above and beyond your duty with some of the stuff and often went into explanation and details that you could have brushed over during some of the reviews (and my email side Q's) so it's sincerely very much appreciated. Overall really an awesome course and in many ways it's a shame that we didn't really utilise your vast knowledge and skill enough in areas as a collective but I guess thats what can happen on these things - hearing you talk about Apes and Avatar in the last review was really awesome and insightful actually. You definitely have a great ability to teach people so hopefully you continue man, some of these courses can be really bad but this was exactly how interactive learning should be. It's a shame I couldn't invest more time into mine but I'll aim to finish it off for sure. If the rain and wind of London ever takes your fancy dude, the beers are on me!

Shannon Thomas has enlighten me and taught me so much about the production process of character modeler including a ton of helpful tips on how to be more proficient in our industry. He will give everyone in the class clear and precise feedback during your Q&A session. He also took the time out of his busy schedule to meet with me for a one on one session going over technical and artistic problems with my model. The relationship you build with your colleagues and Shannon is truly awesome, fun and very humbling. I personally started this class not knowing very much about MAYA, and nothing at all about ZBrush. Completing this class today I'm more confident with the tools I've learned and i'm looking forward with rocking out a few more models with the hopes of finding a job in our industry. Shannon Thomas is a truly a one of a kind professional and I give his Character Modeling in Production class "FIVE Stars" !!!!!

This course was a mind changing animation course. Not only I got better in my animation skills, but also It helped me to think and analyze mi animations. JP is one of the best animation teacher I've had. His video lectures, feedbacks and dedication to the course are more than excellent.

Super informative course! Really enjoyed the video lectures, which was all I really had time for when I signed up (my involvement with the course ended up being *really* minimal and passive, but my experience was still quite positive overall and I'm hoping to sign up for another course coming up in June and actually participate this time around). I was never super clear to what extent self-study students could actually engage with instructors, but I could have cleared that up initially, and didn't because I was too nervous to ask questions (totally my fault!).
On my end, I had problems playing Lecture 07, the video cuts off about 30 minutes in. And... I acknowledge that this is a really petty complaint, but the numerous spelling errors in the lectures were a little distracting. Not a big deal though!
Overall, great course, I took it to just test the waters and watch the lectures and see if I liked what I found, and I really did!

I really enjoyed this class, and having Mike as an instructor was such a pleasure.
He puts a tremendous amount of effort into his lecture videos as well as critiques, and I appreciated his thoroughness in both of them.
I found it really helpful that he made revisions in my Maya file, so I can clearly see the adjustments needed.
I thought Mike's critiques were spot-on, and he also took time to answer all my technical questions about Maya and the rig each week. His comments helped me out so much in developing my eyes for subtlety and motion in my work.
I'll be taking the course again in the future to focus on dialogue animation.

Honestly, I was a little hesitant coming into this course at first. Having other online sources to choose from, but I took the risk and tried out Physics of Animation anyways. It surely did not disappoint! Friendly lecturer(Josiah Massingill) who knows his stuff and genuinely wants you to do better. I have gain more than I could've wished for!
Josiah critiques is very to the point and scientific, which I like. He points out what I did good, bad and provided one or more way to solve it! But honestly, to become better and ultimately improve in animation, it comes down to how much hours you are willing to put into your work! Good luck guys!

Content is good, love to see examples from cartoons that are making use of these methods/principles in creative ways. The demonstration of each lecture are always a bit long when we have to sit a wait for you to draw or pose the rig. This could be a lot quicker, we get the idea without seeing everything.

He is really passionate on modeling. The details on each chapters is clear and easy to understand. I enjoy taking this class and learn some tips that he shows. His feedback every week is also very helpful. I like how he shows how to use different software like mudbox and Zbrush.

Nice workflow of how to breakdown the performance to get unique characters. There are of course a lot of things taught elsewhere but JP finds a way to put his own spin on each method and also introduce a few new tricks that will be very useful for any professional that wants to improve. JP also have an entertaining and clear way of presenting the information so it never feels boring.

I had a GREAT experience with this course. The mentor was extremely patient and had good teaching skills as well as awesome animation techniques in Maya. I was really happy but unfortunate due to a professional situation I could not keep studying in the group so I had to leave. I'm planning to get back to my studies asap :)

Very hard, but very interesting course! Facial animation is hard, there are a lot of stuff to learn, but Mike prepared very good lections (a lot of lections, about 2-3 hours per week!). Mike did a great job at introducing how the face is structured and how/why it moves. Even though some of the concepts can be difficult to put into practice Mike did an excellent job to present all the information in a very understandable way. The course gave me a lot of guidance on how to study and break down the face to continue my studies after the final lecture. I appreciate Mikes patience and the way he was able to explain the same thing in a few different ways for everyone to get the most out of his expertise during the 12 weeks. The fact that he put a lot of time and effort into reviewing our work is inspiring and pushed me to work even harder.
